Rev. Campbell was beyond the best. First impression was amazing. The day of our wedding he met with me the groom and I told him my son wasn't feeling good but im ready; he ask to gather hands and pray before we head downstairs. That melted my heart. Our ceremony itself was so touching and how his own touches to our wedding gave it that punch and pop it needed. He is a true minister and we both keep talking about how great he was. Lots of smiles, tears, and laugher throughout. Rev. Campbell... Thanks you so much!

If we had a spot to give 10 stars, it would still fall short of the wonderful experience we had with Rev. Nicki Peet as our wedding officiant! She was exceptional! From the first phone conversation, we knew that our paths had crossed for a reason. Such a kind and compassionate soul who sought to exemplify our love through her words during our ceremony. Highly recommended if you are in need of an officiant in the Williamsburg, Virginia area! - Heather Bertok & Bev Mosteller-Bertok

DJ West and Shiba did an outstanding job at our wedding in August! They took the time to meet with us three different times before the wedding to get to know us and to make sure they captured the feeling we wanted at the reception. They asked many questions and really listened to our answers, and offered us suggestions and advice when we needed it. The uplighting he provided was fabulous and made the reception room look beautiful, and his dance floor lighting was fun and really helped to get the party started! Many of our guests made a point to tell us how great West and Shina were. I would HIGHLY recommend them!!

My wedding was a true disaster in the works, with a matron and best man canceling last minute, fighting in laws, and a sick relative. Through if all, Mark and Pam saved us and got our guests dancing the whole night! Mark helped us with anything and everything, followed all instruction from the bride, and kept the dance floor occupied... Which was no easy feat considering the squabbling family and small guest list. We have our one year anniversary party and we refuse to use anyone but Mark and Endless MIC! You get more than your moneys worth, the set up looks great, and the lights are fantastic. One of the best decisions I made was endless MIC and having Mark as our DJ was and added bonus. They are a family business and take special care to make you feel like family. Thank you Endless MIC!

Noel provided make up for the women in my niece's wedding, including my niece the bride. She was wonderful! She was very professional. She had a very nice set up with all the necessities including the make up chair, lightning, make up, etc. She was fabulous and made the day very special. She coordinated ahead of time to make sure she understood what the bride wanted. She was perfectly on time and gave each person their own individual attention. She also gave awesome tips to everyone. The bride could not have looked more beautiful. I highly recommend.

"It's ED!" Outstanding, he was an excellent officiant! Serious yet "light", he ran the show and it ran the full spectrum of emotions... serious with some well timed humor sprinkled in. Leading up to our wedding he was readily available, we spoke as often as Jess and I wanted. I think he is tip top, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else's services after our wedding yesterday. I believe he is genuine, I think he lives what he speaks, I think you'll be extremely glad you hired him if you need an officiant. He goes the extra mile, he listens to what you want, he delivers... what else could you ask for... he'll tailor "your day" to your wishes... 5 stars, number 1, all that rating "stuff"... he's legit! Thanks Ed, you were tremendous, many complimented your service to us out of the blue during our conversations. Call him, talk to him, you'll hire him. Joe and Jessica

DJ J Soup was our DJ for our Wedding on Oct. 3rd, 2015!! He was THE BEST! He played exactly the right kind of music that fit my "theme", and he managed to fit in all of the requests from our guests, and all of the particular songs that my husband and I asked for. He got our wedding guests out of their chairs and onto the dance floor! I highly recommend him for your next event, whether that be a wedding, birthday, corporate event, or just an epic party! He is a great guy to work with.

Tom was great! Our guests had a great time at our wedding reception. Most got up and danced. Tom was very friendly and organized. I heard all of the songs I requested, but he also added in some other great selection based on our taste in music. His setup looked very professional and fit in with the white decor. We had a great time. Thanks Tom!!

DJ BON, what can I say about him? The experience we had my sister’s wedding reception was beyond amazing! He had us on the dance floor from the beginning to the end of the reception. He allowed requests and wasn’t afraid to interact with the guests and definitely made sure it was memorable for the bride and groom. Thank you again DJ BON for making my sisters day special and a reception that will go down in the books forever.

Her work is amazing, and so professional. I had her do a makeup look I saw on the net for a wedding I had to go to, and let's just say, I ended up looking better than the bride lol

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
