Rob was the officiant for our daughters wedding. He is professional, friendly and works with you. He met with the bride and groom weeks before the wedding, he worked with everyone during rehearsal and his words during the wedding ceremony was beautiful. Thanks again Rob for helping us make our daughters day very special for her and her new husband.

Four months later and my husband and I are still raving about the amazing job Absolute did for our wedding! The day was not hectic or stressful at all, largely in part to their exteme professionalism...everything ran smoothly, allowing us to truly enjoy our day. Our ceremony was beautiful and the music at our reception had everyone up and dancing all night. Our pictures are gorgeous and we are so grateful they captured the love and emotions of the day for us to look back on for years to come. Looking forward to booking them for an anniversary party! ;) Rick, David and Kim thank you so much for being such a huge part of our special day and for making it absolutely perfect!!

Hey Mr DJ was AMAZING! He was VERY helpful from the beginning!!! Very professional and on point about his services!! Our wedding was so much more smooth because he did it ALL! He provided the linens, decor, set-up AND take down, and the DJ! When it came down to the wire and we had an issue with a conflicting event at the reception site he was VERY helpful and NEVER got upset!!! The ONLY issue I had was that he had to leave because of unforeseen personal circumstances and I wasn't told until after the reception began. However, Matt stepped in and was AWESOME! We had so much fun with him almost as if he were one of our guests!!! Whatever we wanted he did and we worked TOGETHER as a team!!! VERY AWESOME company!!

Maria was very sweet and excellent to work with. She had great creative input, but ultimately left every decision up to me. She even put up some decorations that I made myself. My only disappointment was that not quite everything came out as planned. Since she had been in the room before, I was hoping she would foresee any problems I hadn't thought of, but on the day of my wedding some last minute changes had to be made that were disappointing to me. All in all, everything came out beautifully, though and none of the guests knew what was missing.

Anita has been a friend and a mentor since being my youth pastor when I was growing up. She guided us through planning our wedding ceremony including helping us with our vows. My husband was raised Jewish and I was raised Baptist so we struggled some with how to bring the two religions together in our ceremony. Anita made this easy- she confidently suggested ways that we could incorporate both religions in ways that honored our families and made this the beautiful ceremony we wanted. We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant for our wedding day.

Fr. Kevin officiated our wedding in June 2016. He was absolutely wonderful to work with. He really took the time to get to know us throughout the process and his homily/reflection was customized to our relationship. He made it about "us". It was clear he put a lot of thought, prayer, and preparation into our ceremony. Everything about our experience was perfect from beginning to end and we highly recommend his services to any couple! We loved working with him! RG & Kristin Davis Married June 11, 2016

Micah is absolutely amazing at what she does. She gives you exactly what you want and at EXCELENT prices. I've recommended her to my friends and they've said great things as well. I had my makeup and hair done by her for prom and I was extremely impressed. I've had highlights, lowlights, cuts, and styling all done and she's better than anyone I've been to. I will continue to go to her and I will always recommend her over anyone any day! She is truly great at what she does!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
