This chef is definitely a New Orleans Jewel. Im not anyone important or wealthy-just a single mother recovering from a car accident. I needed help providing meals for my family and she has been a god send. Chef Jewel is a nice combination of personable and professional. You can feel the love in her food. I have to say that her food has incredible flavor. It surpasses that of any restaurant. I was also delighted when she made an exotic dish for me and the taste transported me back to the moment when I first feel in love with it. She also does the shopping and every time she has been within the budget and purchased quality items. I love working with her. She even surprised me with something extra and it made me feel so special.

I hired Chef Cody to cook dinner and dessert for a private bachelorette party in New Orleans. Chef Cody and I spoke several times before we arrived to make sure the menu was perfect! He offered great advice on what dishes to choose. We went with jalapeno cornbread, a seafood jambalaya, chicken and sausage gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and a chocolate bread pudding with homemade ice cream for dessert. He was very prompt and professional and took his time preparing the food. Most importantly, the dishes were delicious! Everyone was very happy with the meal, and it was one of our favorite parts of the trip. I would definitely hire him again!

It was only in March that we decided to marry in June 2018, and we decided on a small wedding of 60-75 people. And the very first detail that I wanted to take care of was food. I googled "caterer for small wedding in New Orleans" and miraculously, on Thumbtack, Gerard Maras's name came up - there were other names, but in reading about Chef Maras's life in the cooking world, I instinctively knew he was the one. I responded to his message inviting me to contact him. He quickly responded and once I spoke to him, I knew he was the best choice for me. He was interested in finding out about my vision for our wedding, and in listening to my thoughts and ideas about what I thought I might want, over the next few weeks he presented me with pictures of food possibilities and ideas. He was so helpful in discussing each dish with me, and soon came up with a finished menu for a wonderful wedding feast with delicious, unusual and beautiful food. A wedding with all the details to figure out can be very stressful, especially on short notice, but Gerard Maras exudes a sense of calm, confidence and professionalism that made everything for our wedding smooth and easy. The food was wonderful, especially his freshly made pasta with a crawfish sauce, and his food was the hot topic at our wedding. All of our family and friends are still talking about having had the best food they ever had at a wedding. He has a unique talent in not only being a wonderful chef, but knowing what foods are complimentary to each other, and presenting food beautifully, and using only the best seasonal, highest quality and fresh food. He is a real artist in that he makes everything seem effortless, but what he does requires the greatest talent and skill. Thank you Gerard, for making our wedding a truly memorable event - not just for Joe and I, but for all of our family and dear friends.

I ordered a Mother's Day cake for a family BBQ. My family uses a 'cake lady' but I told them this was fro Chef D's Pastries. Apparently I paid a little more than my family would have paid. After we all ate this cake, my family said they would have paid more!!!! Thanks for making a beautiful and delicious cake!!!
