Jason Trammell is a very good personal trainer. I am 59 years old and have Spastic/Dystonic Cerebral Palsy. When I went on Thumbtack to find a trainer (I did say I had Cerebral Palsy), Jason was the only one to reply. Most personal trainers would not know how to work with me, but Jason stepped up to the challenge. I have been work with Jason for over 6 months. Once I talked with him about how my disability affected my muscle movements and balance, he figured out the best way in which to work with me. That said, He doesnt treat me with kid gloves, instead he pushes me to my limit and sometimes beyond. When I feel like cant do something, he gets me to try and usually he is right. This technique helps by reducing my limits and building my strength. I do need to say that I always feel safe that I will not fall or get hurt, because Jason is always close by to make sure that doesnt happen! Most people hire trainers for weight loss. I was 10 pounds underweight. Jason made up a food schedule for me and is constantly bugging me about eating more, now Im only 5 pounds underweight. Strength training is so very important for people, especially woman, over 45 whether or not you have a disability. Working out with Jason will keep me from needing to use a wheelchair or scooter for many years to come, as well as keep me independent in my own home and doing all the regular things everyone else can do. Finally, Jasons prices are very reasonable. if you look up the cost of joining a gym and having a personal trainer 3-times a week, you will probably be paying twice as much! Plus he comes to your home so you dont have to go out in the cold and rain in the winter. Anne-Marie Hughey 913-745-6540 (Voice) firstname.lastname@example.org
As a 45-year old woman, I finally came to the realization that the aging process would be a lot lovelier if I took better care of my body. I literally woke up one day and decided that I wanted to get strong. I met with several personal trainers, and Kristin was the only one who I felt really *heard* me. We started with very basic strength training, and as I began to feel more capable she amped up the workouts accordingly. When I started getting excited about the results, we started talking about diet. In other words, she didn't overwhelm me with too much information at the very beginning; she was very tuned-in to what I needed, *when* I needed it. I have now been working with Kristin for a year and half. And though weight-loss was never my stated goal, I have dropped 3 sizes and gained a lot of muscle. My coordination and balance have improved, too. Our workouts together are always a lot of fun; Kristin is exceedingly cheerful and upbeat, and I look forward to our weekly sessions together.
I love Teresa she is so great! She keeps me motivated and sweating lol. Sometimes she is a few minutes late for our workouts but she makes the time up at the end. Also I love how she works with me with scheduling workouts I have a really busy schedule and we meet many different time of the day and different days of the week I really don't know how she keeps up! I definitely see results and it's only been 2 months and 12 days, I have lost 55lbs!!! Huge for me, so yes I would recommend her as a trainer/ personal consultant. She is the best!
Travis Baker is a great personal trainer. My strength and endurance have improved by leaps and bounds. He is professional and very knowledgable about nutrition and fitness. I like that his gym is at his house. It is clean and a great atmosphere for working hard. You won't be disapointed. Sincerly, Dr. Justin Tooke DMD
Mary-Anne is everything I was looking for in a personal trainer. Hired to help me recover from injury and build core strength, she is careful not to push me too far, but always looking and finding good challenges for me to tackle. On top of being professional, knowledgeable and practiced in Yoga and Pilates, she is passionate about what she does and, in my experience, cares about the people she helps. Simply put: She is a wonderful teacher, motivator and coach.
My husband and I found Travis on Thumbtack about 3mths ago. We both work out with him twice a week. I have had several personal trainers over the years and find Travis to be the most knowledgeable. I like to ask a lot of " why" questions about the exercises we are doing and he always has a very informative answer. I have learned a lot about fitness since I started training with him. He also pays attention to form, is very conscious of our position and always makes sure we perform each exercise correctly. My husband has back problems and Travis is able to help him with his back issue by offering him exercises he can do to help him strengthen and stretch his back. My husband has found this very helpful. Overall , we have had a very positive experience working with Travis and I would highly recommend him as a trainer.
Elston Haywood is one of Portland's most premier personal trainers you can find.......why? First off he practices what he preaches. Have you ever noticed how many trainers now a days have a little gut going on but they are telling you that you need to be here (the gym) 4 days an week and eat better. ummm did you read that in a book or something because I don't see you following your own methods. Secondly and most importantly, he's there for you! It's not about the money, yes your paying a price, but lets be real it's a business. Don't be surprised if he gives you a few free session though. He truly wants to make you a healthier human being so you can reach your own personal life goals. You'll be surprised how much more in life you'll accomplish when your physically fit. LIFESTYLE EVOLVED is more then a name and it's more then a gym.
Keri was my personal trainer and by far the best I ever had. I moved away and wish I could have taken her with me. She CARED... She worked as hard as I did. She showed up at every workout ready to challenge me and with all of the knowledge and preparedness to take me to the next step. And step I did. I hated the stair master - so she walked on the one next to me. She made me want to show up. I will forever call her friend. Thank you Keri. Thank you.
I sought out personal training on the recommendation of my physical therapist. The goal was to continue strengthening exercises to improve the condition of my injured ankle and problematic knees. I have to admit, I was terrified to start working with a personal trainer... I was obese, out of shape, and feared that I would be judged. Then I stumbled across Corey at Thrive Body Balance and realized I had nothing to fear. He was very welcoming and willing to work with me unconditionally and without judgment. I've been working out with Corey weekly for nearly 6 months now. I feel so much stronger, and that has helped me both physically and in terms of my confidence. I also feel like I'm taking great strides towards lifelong health, as Corey works with me on "corrective" exercises to improve the alignment and balance of my body. I would most definitely recommend Corey to anyone and everyone. He is extremely knowledgeable, understanding, flexible, patient, wise, and truly just a joy to spend time with. After all this time, I still look forward to my weekly personal training sessions. They have been worth every penny, and I feel very lucky to have found a trainer like Corey.
I have been working along side Brian Clark on several fitness related projects over the last year and a half. Durring the spring and summer of 2013 Brian and I teamed up together to form Blast Outdoor Workouts. Even though Brian was the brains of these fun and functional fitness bootcamps, I was lucky enough to be the female trainer on board. These classes were held in a beautiful grassy setting at lake Sacajewea in Longview Washington. Brian is extremely creative and can design a great workout ANYWHERE! I have also used Brian as my own personal trainer. For 8 weeks Brian worked with me to help me gain muscle mass, and along the way I learned new and effective way to develope my body. Not only is Brian a good trainer ....he is also a talented photographer, and has been involved with taking fitness photos to demonstrate new exercises that he has created. I am currently in the pre production stage of making my own exercise video to sell on the market late 2014, Brian is in charge of the filming and is a co director of this video. With the first two rough drafts completed I am pleased with Brian's work and involvment with this project. Brian Clark is a unique individual who is competent in many areas. He is very passionate about helping people become a healthier version of themselves and would be an asset to any company. I feel lucky to have him as a bussiness partner and to be called one of his best friends.

I signed up to run my first half marathon and knew I would need the help of a good trainer to get me to race day. My goal was to complete the half without getting injured along the way. With about 14 weeks before my race I found Peter Smith. From the beginning I knew he was a good fit for me. He is passionate about what he does and is very knowledgeable. He made our workouts fun and ensured that I was doing the right cross-training and strength training necessary to get me through without injury. Even after my half marathon was complete I continued training with Peter to keep up my skills during the off-season. Now I am signed up for four more races, including two halfs. If you are looking for an excellent personal trainer, I highly recommend Peter.
Cara is an excellent personal trainer! I enjoy her challenging workouts and that she teaches me to listen to my body. Cara is great about varying workouts so they never get boring. I was worried that I'd be criticized about my weight as a way to 'motivate' but I never once felt judged about my size.
As a retired Marine, my body was in need of physical therapy and strength and conditioning. I was recommended to Therd by a close friend that has trained with him in San Diego, CA for triathlons and other endurance events. He came highly recommended. Therd has an impressive demeanor about him that makes him seemingly more mature beyond his years. Therd, also, has a sharp wit about him that he has brought to every training session. He is a highly skilled and educated professional that brings an arsenal of training methods, exercises, knowledge and experience that gets the results in a safe and fast manner. I trained with him for 5 years prior to his move to Portland, OR. And, till this day, I still do what I learned from him and I feel great everyday. Therd has been not only an exceptional fitness trainer to me, but has also been a excellent life coach to me. I would highly recommended Therd to anybody who is looking for results in personal fitness training and personal growth.
