Stephen is very knowledgeable in all areas of fitness- he explains every exercise and movement you do in detail and provides you with the proper form and technique necessary to maximize the benefits of any given movement. His background and experience is extensive and he wants to equip you with the knowledge to be "the smartest person at the gym." I have tried sessions with many trainers and not a single one even remotely compares to Stephen. He is flexible in working with you to find the best times to train with your schedule and capitalizes on every minute of your session. After ten sessions, I am already seeing results and progress in my strength and physique. As mentioned in the title of this post, my only disappointment is that Thumbtack only allows a five star maximum for ratings. Stephen is worthy of far more than that.
I am a spinal cord injured patient with very high level injury which is challenging even for physiotherapists. I mostly wanted to stand and try some steps with calibers, improving my stamina, blood flow, core muscles, etc. Frantz is amazing! He is always professional, right on time and pays attention to everything to help you out individually! I could not even tell that I was his first spinal cord injured patient since he adapted so easily, he learned everything about my condition and he helped me optimize my training schedule, paying attention to the smallest details to correlate for example my diet, to figure out which muscles would be mostly helpful to exercise, etc. He pushes my limits to improve my stamina and targets improvement. I had many physiotherapists and personal trainers before but in fact Frantz targeted the right problems and I have seen improvements of my stamina and muscle strength, I can push easier with my wheelchair and my health status and fitness is excellent even though I just moved to Boston in September and normally it takes me many months of training to return to the baseline. I have not only reached my baseline but with Frantz I see real improvements and I feel comfortable and safe in his hands. Imagine that with my condition (incomplete tetraplegia) you need to be able to completely trust your trainer and he needs to know what he is doing to help you, otherwise a mistake could take you back and harm your health severely and sometimes irreversibly. After working with Frantz I am convinced that he is the best person I could find in a very affordable price to accomplish the best possible result so I would definitely recommend him to anyone!!! If he could handle so well my condition I believe he would be amazing for everyone!
When I started working with Michelle my goals were to improve myself physically and spiritually by stepping out of my normal workouts and comfort zone because they were no longer working for me. I sought out personal training because I was overweight, out of shape, & when I went to the gym I had no idea what I was doing. I was worried I wouldn't be able to afford it & also worried that personal training was more suited to athletes or bodybuilders. I posted on this site, & got some responses very quickly. Johnny was one of the first to contact me, & we worked out a plan I could afford which he felt would help me achieve my objectives. In two and a half months I lost nearly thirty pounds with a meal plan Johnny devised, meeting with him once a week, & doing workouts he designs & monitors on my own. I am in better health overall & feel more confident at the gym. I am still working with Johnny & feel my decision to do personal training with him was a wise decision. Johnny has a studio he shares with other trainers, & it's clean & never crowded. He has a lot of knowledge about fitness, health, & exercise. He varies my routines so I'm always learning new things. He works with bodybuilders as well as couch potatoes like myself, & I highly recommend him as a trainer.
Lou is fun, friendly, caring, and fair. He loves his job and is not just a personal trainer but a nutritionist which is super helpful. Even with one 1 hour workout a week with him I see results, which is hard to believe but true! He is helping me gain muscle. I love that he is conscious of the type of supplements he recommends and he is an advocate of natural eating, unlike many trainers out there who recommend terrible harsh products. He is encouraging, reasonable, and pushes me to the right extant, and is careful to avoid injury. Lou fosters healthy body image.. I've been practicing yoga for years, but gyms and anything cardio were foreign concepts to me. I'd been looking to branch out of my comfort and push myself a bit, but I knew I needed someone to show me the way and hold me accountable. Enter Will. I've only been working out with him for a few weeks now, so I can't quite comment on results. But Will has a well-rounded set of traits that make him a great personal trainer. He is energetic and motivating without being a drill sergeant. He pushes me but also senses when to give me a bit more of a rest. He listens (so incredibly important), adapting exercises to suit my specific limitations and pacing things accordingly. Most important, he emphasizes form above all else, and is conscientious about preventing injuries. Best of all, he does all this in the comfort of my own home, arriving chipper and bright-eyed at 6am. A handful of sessions in, I am surprised that I don't find working out to be as much of a drag as I'd expected, and I accredit that to Will.
I have known Regis for a very long time I can honestly say that this man has a big heart and is very dedicated to his work. He has the knowledge to get you to your weight loss goal; between him and my other favorite sweet heart Babs they got me to my weigh goal of 130lbs but that wasn't enough for them! they encourage me to get to my ideal weight of 125lbs (my high school weight). I started with 160lbs but with there help and full support on a daily basis I got to a place I never thought I would ever be at. I now have nutritional knowledge thanks to their hard work and the extra loving care they gave me; These guys are family to me. I fully recommend them!!!. To this day I thank Pete for helping me reach my goals and beyond. When I first started seeing him I was a 22 year old college student who had been battling weight problems my entire life. I was 230 lbs. in June of 2010 when I began his program. I had also had some medical issues with my shoulder and could only do so much when working out. He was able to accommodate my injuries and aid me on the road to success. I saw him twice a week and looked forward to every meeting. It was the first time i was motivated to work out, be healthy, and genuinely care to reach the outcome. He became more than a trainer and turned into a friend. I wanted to lose weight and feel good about myself which is exactly what he helped me accomplish. Last fall I competed in the swimming portion of a triathlon and came in 15th place out of 112 women. Class with Frenchy is the best workout you can possibly get. You sweat, learn how to dance maybe a little twerking too. She makes you feel like your at a club;bringing different music styles with a side of cadio to go along with it. All smiles, been doing the class for 6 months now and I'm getting toned in my legs & stomach. I have worked with Steve for nearly eighteen years because he makes strength training fun, totally focuses on me to make sure that I am doing the movements correctly (so that I won't inadvertently injury myself), and easily adapts an exercise on the fly if I'm sore from having twisted the wrong way while lifting something too heavy at home. His is not a "cookie cutter" approach because he personalizes every workout session for each client and their specific needs. He recognized long ago that the needs and abilities of older clients are different from younger clients. To meet the needs of his older clients, he created LROM (limited range of motion) for strength training. I worked with other trainers but chose to work with Steve because he is worth the money.
