Jason Trammell is a very good personal trainer. I am 59 years old and have Spastic/Dystonic Cerebral Palsy. When I went on Thumbtack to find a trainer (I did say I had Cerebral Palsy), Jason was the only one to reply. Most personal trainers would not know how to work with me, but Jason stepped up to the challenge. I have been work with Jason for over 6 months. Once I talked with him about how my disability affected my muscle movements and balance, he figured out the best way in which to work with me. That said, He doesnt treat me with kid gloves, instead he pushes me to my limit and sometimes beyond. When I feel like cant do something, he gets me to try and usually he is right. This technique helps by reducing my limits and building my strength. I do need to say that I always feel safe that I will not fall or get hurt, because Jason is always close by to make sure that doesnt happen! Most people hire trainers for weight loss. I was 10 pounds underweight. Jason made up a food schedule for me and is constantly bugging me about eating more, now Im only 5 pounds underweight. Strength training is so very important for people, especially woman, over 45 whether or not you have a disability. Working out with Jason will keep me from needing to use a wheelchair or scooter for many years to come, as well as keep me independent in my own home and doing all the regular things everyone else can do. Finally, Jasons prices are very reasonable. if you look up the cost of joining a gym and having a personal trainer 3-times a week, you will probably be paying twice as much! Twelve weeks prior to walking into Superior Physique, I had changed my eating habits, started a reputable workout program at home, 5-6 days a week, with absolutely no progress to show for it. I take that back, my pants had actually began to fit me tighter than before I had started the program. Confused, frustrated and determined, I needed a change. I found Turk through Thumbtack.com. Like you, I read the reviews and took a chance. What will a consultation hurt, right? Its just a chat. Turk was professional, knowledgeable and very articulate. He took time to get to know my history, my goals and areas of opportunity. He takes something that can be scientifically complex (down right confusing), and breaks it down in easy to understand ways. I quickly learned why I wasnt seeing results and what I needed to do in order to change. My nutrition was out of balance, I was under eating and I needed to add in strength training. The first week, I thought, Oh my goodness, I have no idea what I am doing- this is a whole new world for me. I am not in Kansas anymore. I went to two sessions that week, a nervous wreck, a little nauseated, and had no idea what to expect. I cannot remember if I walked in with a terrified look or not but Turk quickly made me feel at ease. First, we went over nutrition in detail and then onto the floor. Turk explained and demonstrated the exercises, showing what muscle groups were being triggered and what the proper form of each exercise looked and felt like (He is fantastic at educating you). The hour flew by and I didnt die! I found myself wanting more. Seventeen weeks into my journey, Turk has far exceeded my expectations. I can honestly say working out with Turk has become my favorite part of the week. I look back in amazement of how much I have progressed over the weeks. I am thrilled with my results and love watching how my body transforms from week to week. I have gone from 27% body fat down to 21%, and gained 4lbs of muscle. With Turk as my partner in crime, there is no doubt that we will achieve my goals. Not only is Turk extremely knowledgeable and efficient, he is a positive and motivating guy that pushes you to your limits. The limits you had no idea were even there. He has opened my eyes to a world I have never considered before and I love every minute of my new journey. If you are anything like me cardio is easy and comfortable. Easy and comfortable doesnt always get you the results that you want or need. If it terrifies you, it transforms you. To me this was strength training and personal trainers. I took the leap of faith and taking a chance with Turk has been the absolute, best thing I have done for myself and for my health. Thanks to Turk, I am no longer terrified, I am transforming! Have you ever noticed how many trainers now a days have a little gut going on but they are telling you that you need to be here (the gym) 4 days an week and eat better. ummm did you read that in a book or something because I don't see you following your own methods. Secondly and most importantly, he's there for you! It's not about the money, yes your paying a price, but lets be real it's a business. Don't be surprised if he gives you a few free session though. Brian Clark is a truly outstanding personal trainer. He is the Thomas Edison of working out -- constantly inventing challenging new routines. Whether running while pulling a heavy sled across a grassy field, or hanging bands from a tree to do pull ups, he imagines everything in nature as potential exercise equipment. Brian has a wealth of fitness knowledge and a charismatic personality that makes working out fun. Even when your heart is pounding, sweat dripping, and you think cant pull the sled another inch, he can still make you laugh! With his difficult yet exhilarating workouts, results are quickly achieved. I started working out with Brian last summer, hoping to increase my balance and endurance for cycling and mountain biking. After only two short months, during a three day mountain bike tour near Oakridge, Oregon, I felt stronger and more confident while riding these technical and steep trails. Additionally, I was able to ride my road bike 70 miles, with 5000 feet gain in elevation, up Spirit Lake Highway toward Mount St. Helens, and felt great afterwards. Emmanuel Roman at Superior Physique is hands down the most knowledgable, effective trainer I have had the pleasure of working with. His advice is sound and he is very accessible, quick to answer texts and emails. I signed up to run my first half marathon and knew I would need the help of a good trainer to get me to race day. My goal was to complete the half without getting injured along the way. With about 14 weeks before my race I found Peter Smith. From the beginning I knew he was a good fit for me. He is passionate about what he does and is very knowledgeable. He made our workouts fun and ensured that I was doing the right cross-training and strength training necessary to get me through without injury. Even after my half marathon was complete I continued training with Peter to keep up my skills during the off-season. Now I am signed up for four more races, including two halfs.
