Paul, and his wife Stephanie were wonderful to work with. They are very knowledgeable, and have a lot of experience catering. The menu Paul created for our Holiday Party was delicious, and the biggest foodies in my group were raving about the food. They provided everything, so all I had to worry about was the event space and getting everyone to the event. It was a wonderful event due to the fantastic food and service provided by Paul and his company. Thank you.

My event was a picnic in a large public park. Chantel delivered delicious BBQ food and there was more than enough for the large group I'd planned to have attend (70 people). My guests were very impressed with everything. Chantel set up the food, plates, and plastic ware and even assisted me in covering some of the picnic tables. I will definitely call her again for future catering jobs!

200 people, middle of the day, bbq catering. I think the food was outstanding and there was plenty of it. Al was a pleasure to work with, arrived timely and was professional. I was asked repeatedly where I got the bbq from because it was "Darn tasty." We will certainly have you on our list of approved caterers!

Nola and her staff did such a fantastic job catering our wedding. From helping us plan to menu, providing a delicious tasting, answering questions about logistics and dietary restrictions, and providing stellar food and customer service to the day of the wedding, Nola and her team went above and beyond to make our day special. Our main entrée was fig balsamic glazed wild BBQ salmon with mango kiwi salsa. I wish I could make something this delicious myself, because it was amazing. Our salad consisted of organic mixed greens with julienned apple, shaved fennel, herbed crouton, and a really light but creamy bleu cheese dressing. They even made a separate salad with a different dressing for our dairy-free guests. The guest (and groom’s) favorite was our side: Beecher’s mac and cheese. So good! It was very stormy the day of our wedding, and a lot of things went wrong for us. Nola and her team went beyond the call of duty and helped out where they shouldn’t have needed to. They kept an incredibly positive attitude the entire time, conversed with guests, and helped reassure an incredibly stressed-out bride. The only complaint I heard from any guests was the portion-control at the buffet, but with a buffet we personally feel that was probably necessary. I had been concerned that people would take more than their fair share and leave guests at the end of the line with no food, and I’m sure that was the whole reason for starting out with smaller portions. I also heard that guests were invited to come back for seconds once everybody had been served, so I’m sure everyone got enough food. Overall, we were more than satisfied with Nola, her team, and the food. The food was everything we had hoped for, and the service was outstanding. We recommend them to anybody planning a wedding or other event.

Bridgette set up a construction site BBQ for about 190 people. Our crew raved about the food and there was plenty of it (and construction crews eat A LOT). She & her crew were on time, they set everything up quickly, made sure people got "to go" boxes in case they couldn't come to the table area, and kept people moving through. I would highly recommend WithStyleCatering for any event.

George was wonderful to work with and the food was even better. We hosted an event with 70 people - high school students and their families. Everyone was impressed by the food. We ordered the BBQ menu - nobody had tried macaroni with prawns was a hit! The pulled pork was perfect as well. Book Al Lago now.

On 8/8/16 K.I.S.S. was at our facility for our annual summer BBQ. Our menu included; smoked beef, smoked turkey, BBQ chicken, BBQ pulled pork, slow cooked beans, KISS onions, and green salad for 55 people. They were easy to work with, followed up 10 days in advance to our event, arrived on time for setup, and were ready to serve lunch on time. Keith and Tami have been catering our event for 3-4 years and have never let us down. Everyone loves the food and all the leftovers disappear quickly! They are professional yet relaxed and comfortable to support any event. I would highly recommend them!

We had a last minute business dinner event to cater at our home, and we got lucky that Yary happened to be available since it was midweek. She did all of the grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning and serving, all while preparing fabulously gourmet food for our event, including using the BBQ for the steaks and roasted vegetables. We were pleased, and definitely will use her again!

Converse Catering did an exceptional job catering our daughter's wedding reception. From helping us fine tune the menu to handling the details with the rental company, Daniel was always available to answer our questions or to make last minute changes that we requested. Our guests were very complimentary of both the delicious food and excellent service. We can't thank Daniel and Converse Catering enough for helping make this important day so special!

Professional, friendly people with great food to boot!! I utilized O'Sheas Catering and Events for an annual event that I host to honor mothers who have lost children to youth violence. The sheer nature of this event is sensitive and has no room for mistakes and the folks at O'Sheas gave me one less thing to worry about. From the pre-event tasting to the actual clean up after the event, they were always responsive to my needs, answered emails and phone calls in a timely fashion and were prompt the day of the show. The event's guests were especially pleased with the BBQ brisket and their feedback made me happy that I chose that as one of our dinner options. Many thanks to O'Sheas, I will definitely be considering this business for my events in the future.

Hamburgers and hotdogs are cooked fresh onsite. We bring our charcoal grills to your location and serve your guests right off the grill.

We offer BBQ catering on the East side. We are Washington State's excellent BBQ lunch and dinner. We are a southern-style BBQ shop, that smokes beef brisket, baby back ribs, pulled pork, and hotlinks. Baked beans, cornbread, and our mac and cheese are smoked too! Events of all sizes are welcome.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a caterer?

Catering prices depend mainly on how fancy you want the food and service to be and how many guests you’ll have. When you’re first looking to hire a caterer for your event, consider how many guests you’ll have and your total food and drink budget. The national average for event catering is $340, but catering prices can range into the thousands depending on your menu, guest count, and service.

Event catering is a broad term that covers everything from fully prepared, ready-to-eat food that the hosts plate and serve themselves to full-service, multicourse meals, including rental of linens, glassware and other items, with service staff organized by the catering company. Usually a caterer will determine cost based on the type of event you’re having, how many guests will attend, the level of service you desire, and what type of menu you’d like to have. For example, if you have a set catering budget, say $1,500, and you plan to have 50 people attend, that means you have $30 per person for food. If you have the same budget with 100 people, you have $15 per person for food. In this way, the number of people you want to attend your event and the level of food you want to serve them determines how much catering will cost.

How much should catering cost per person?

Catering prices can range from about $10 per guest on the low end to $150 or more per person on the high end. Catering costs represent the quality of food, presentation, variety, ingredients and service. But catering prices are more than the cost to cook the food that will be at your party; they also include the cost for the company to do business. Here is a simple breakdown of catering prices:

  • Menu: The food you serve your guests will directly affect the price per person. Organic ingredients, complex recipes, elaborate presentations, or high-ticket items like lobster or filet mignon all add to the cost.
  • Service: Buffet, family style, plated dinners — how you serve the food affects the cost per person. For example, a true plated meal can cost about twice the price of a staff-assisted buffet because of staffing costs. Hiring waiters, bartenders and cleanup crew will all be calculated into the per-person catering price.
  • Drinks: Providing beverages and alcoholic drinks for guests greatly increases your catering budget. Hosting an open bar can cost as much per person as the meal.
  • Rentals: Seating, plates, glassware, etc., will all have an effect on the cost per person for catering. For example, a plastic conference table that seats 10 costs about $6 to rent on average, while a wooden farmhouse table is about $80 to rent on average.
  • Business costs: Any catering cost will also include the cost for the company to do business such as insurance, employee wages, commercial kitchen space and more.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
