Despite his passion for fitness training, working in a gym did not work for Ben Greene. He knew that doing sales is not his strongest point, but this was a training for him, and made him decide to venture into becoming a personal trainer and start his own business. His father was also a factor for this decision since his father was a businessman as well.

My usual client is in there early 40's to mid 50's. The majority of them are well educated and have families. Most of them just want to be as fit as possible while still maintaining a regular life that isn't all about exercise and nutrition. I do train children as well as elderly clients as well. I just love working with people no matter what there age or exercise level is.

Ben admits that facing negative people who doubts his capabilities is a challenge, but he keeps his business alive and growing. In fact, he has been a witness to many transformations among his clients. One that stands out was Keith T. who was overweight at first, but with his help, Keith evolved into a healthier person.

I think the most effective strategy is to keep things fresh, I am always incorporating new tools that most trainers probably do not use. I also like to create my own pieces of exercise equipment from things I buy at home depot. Also I like to do movements that not only work their bodies but also make them think a little as well.

He puts the "personal" back into "personal trainer" by asking questions, listening and then modifying the training to accommodate my limitations but pushes me further than I ever thought I could go. I finally decided to look into working with a personal trainer, and I am so glad that I did. My sessions are always challenging, but fun and rewarding. I started barely able to run thirty seconds at a time. I am pleased to say that in only a couple of months I can now run for four minutes straight! I've worked at quite a few gyms around the country and they generally charge anywhere from $60 to $100 an hour for personal training. If a trainer worked at a gym that charges YOU, the client $60 an hour, your trainer would only get $16 of that. I'm simply cutting out the middle man. You're also more likely to train longer if you have the extra money to hold on to. You get the same quality trainer you would get at a gym just at your home or at my studio at no additional fee.
